THE winning entry in the Chronicle’s 2008 best garden competition will host a fundraising day in early June.

Green-fingered Roger and Jinny Perris won last year’s small garden category for their stunning creation at 12 Mount Pleasant Road in Davenham.

And the couple are holding an open garden to raise much-needed funds for The Guide Dogs For The Blind Association.

Their tapered garden, which abuts the village cricket ground, boasts a figure-of-eight lawn surrounded by colourful borders.

Admission on Sunday, June 7, is £1.50, and teas and plants will be on sale.
