AN Ellesmere Port student could be in with a chance of winning a place on a fully paid three-year media degree course if they make Liverpool Hope University their number one choice.

The course also offers the opportunity to take part in work experience at Radio City and covers all aspects of the media industry including television, radio, film, marketing, PR and print journalism.

For a chance to win prospective students must make Liverpool Hope their first choice on their UCAS application and apply to study BA Media (Single Honours or Combined).

The scholarship will offer a wide range of experiences in the programming departments of Radio City, Magic 1548 and City Talk.

This includes working on the Radio City Breakfast Show, helping to choose the playlist and on air competitions, carrying out research for City Talk shows and shadowing the news and sports teams.

John McCarthy, director of marketing, recruitment and external relations at Liverpool Hope, said: “It is excellent that Liverpool Hope University, working in collaboration with the region’s largest commercial radio station, is able to offer what can only be described as ‘a life changing opportunity for one lucky student’.

‘The University and Radio City have worked hard to ensure that the package on offer in the Scholarship is financially attractive and provides invaluable work experience in the field.”

Details of how to apply are available on the UCAS website. Once Liverpool Hope is in receipt of applications they will contact entrants with further information.
