NORTHWICH culture group DAN’s first theatre trip of the new year is to see a stunning production of Mary Poppins at the Palace Theatre in Manchester next month.

A coach will leave Northwich Memorial Hall at 1pm on February 4, and the entourage will be seeing the matinee performance of the acclaimed Disney/Cameron adaptation of the classic musical.

Following a three-and-a-half-year run and over 1,000 performances at the Prince Edward Theatre in London’s West End, the award-winning version is embarking on a major international tour.

The title role is played by Lisa O’Hare, who has played Eliza Doolittle in My Fair Lady. She trained as a ballet dancer, and performed in a variety of shows at the Royal Opera House. After moving to musical theatre, Lisa joined the original London production of Mary Poppins in 2006, and took over the lead role last year.

Tickets are £35, which includes coach travel. The coach from will also stop to pick up at Hartford and Sandiway churches. To book call Nick Hughes at the DAN Office in Northwich Library on 01606 41597.
