A Mollington primary school has celebrated the work of its teaching assistants.

St Oswald’s CE Primary School celebrated National Teaching Assistant Day on Wednesday September, 16.

Headteacher Dave Wallace said; “We wanted to take this opportunity to show the fantastic teaching assistants in our school how valued they are as they really do make such a difference to children’s lives.

“We provided lunch for them, and held a special assembly in the afternoon where the children had written special prayers for them and made cards.

“We also gave them special awards for selflessness as we felt this was one of our school values that summed up the teaching assistants the best.

“I think all our school community recognise the work that the teaching assistants do in school and it was great to see lots of positive comments on our Twitter feed from parents and members of the school community.”
