COMMUNITY groups within west Wrexham can get up to £250 to help them with their community activities from now until March 2010.

The West Wrexham Partnership, in conjunction with Wrexham County Borough Council’s Economic Development Department, will be administering the Small Grants Scheme for community groups within the area.

The scheme can fund projects that involve people in their community and covers Coedpoeth, Gwersyllt, Brymbo, Rhosrobin, Bradley, Brynteg, Moss, Summerhill, Pentre Broughton, Southsea, Lodge, Llay, New Broughton, Tanyfron, Caego and Pandy.

David Millington, chairman of the West Wrexham Partnership, said: “Grants of up to £250 will be available and could make a real difference for local community groups. “The grant can be used for setting up a community group, assisting with venue hire, publicity or be used as match funding to enable the group to draw down larger sums of money. The purchase of new equipment or the hosting of a community event could also be eligible so I would encourage existing and new groups to get in touch.”
