GROUPS in west Wrexham can now access up to £250 to help them with their community activities.

The West Wrexham Partnership, in conjunction with Wrexham County Borough Council’s Economic Development Department, will be administering a “Small Grants Scheme”.

The scheme can fund projects which involve people in their community and covers Coedpoeth, Gwersyllt, Brymbo, Rhosrobin, Bradley, Brynteg, Moss, Summerhill, Pentre Broughton, Southsea, Lodge, Llay, New Broughton, Tanyfron, Caego and Pandy.

David Millington, chairman of the West Wrexham Partnership, said: “The grant can be used for setting up a community group, assisting with venue hire, publicity or as match funding to enable the group to draw down larger sums of money. The purchase of new equipment or the hosting of a community event could also be eligible so I would encourage existing and new groups to get in touch.”

Help in setting up community groups and activities is available from the West Wrexham Community Development Team. For information and an application pack, call 01978 722995 or e-mail joanne. pugh@wrexham.gov.uk.
