A WREXHAM tree surgeon turned from wood to pumpkins for the spooky season.
Simon O’Rourke, who usually creates art out of wood, carved the largest pumpkin in the region into a scary face for a village restaurant.
Chris Baker, who owns Christiano’s Italian restaurant in Tarporley, bought the huge pumpkin as a novelty Hallowe’en feature and commissioned the wood carver to create the face.
Chris said: “It’s fantastic – we are really pleased with the end result. It makes a great feature for the restaurant and will hopefully get people to pop in and have a look.
“There was pumpkin juice flying everywhere when he carved and it brought a huge crowd to watch the face emerge.
“When he first started I did wonder how he was going to manage to do it, but it really worked well.”
Chris organised the spooky feature to promote his new early menu.
He said: “I hope people enjoy looking at our new feature and I would like to thank Simon for his wonderful work.”
