TWELVE cars on the Wharton Estate in Winsford have been clamped for not having a registered tax disc on show.

Following a joint operation between Cheshire Police and the DVLA, cars without tax or insurance are being targeted across the town and Mid Cheshire.

Owners of the clamped cars must pay a fine of £100 within 24 hours or face their vehicles being seized and paying an additional £160 holding fee.

Insp Dave Snasdell said: “There are a large number of vehicles in the Winsford area without tax and insurance.

“If you know of anyone driving around without tax or insurance, please contact the police.”
