EMPLOYEES of home care company Jemma Care and their families will be giving up part of their Bank Holiday weekend to raise money for Nightingale House Hospice.

So far, more than 20 members of staff have signed up for a sponsored walk on Saturday, May 28.

Jemma Care director Janice Thomas said: 'With the volume of care needs expected to rise over the next few years, it's important to bring awareness of just how important the service we provide is to the people in the community.

'As our Wrexham contract has recently been approved, we wanted to promote Jemma Care's services in the Wrexham area and decided to organise a sponsored walk from our Shotton branch to a focal point of care in Wrexham.'

She added: 'Nightingale House was picked as we felt the hospice provided a valued service to the care sector, and is a name we recognised through our own clients having spent time there.

'Employees and their families will be walking an organised route to raise money for the hospice and help introduce ourselves to the Wrexham area. We are looking for as much support as possible, and would urge local companies to sponsor us in our fundraising quest.'
