A MOTHER who has devoted her life to caring for her disabled daughter will have the chance to treat herself this Christmas – thanks to the Chronicle.
When Sheila Roberts, 58, of Mold entered the Chronicle’s competition in the hope of winning £500 worth of vouchers to spend at new Wrexham shopping centre, Eagles Meadow, she didn’t think she had a chance of claiming the prize.
Sheila said: “I just entered on the off chance, I never expected to win.”
Not only has she got the chance to shop till she drops but she was the first person to walk into the newly-opened centre at its official opening last Thursday.
She said: “It’s been a lovely day and all the staff here have been wonderful.”
Sheila is a full-time carer for her 30-year-old daughter Janette and has recently been caring for her husband, who had a heart bypass four months ago.
She said: “I think I’ll spend most of the vouchers in Marks & Spencer and Debenhams. I’ll be buying some Christmas presents but treating myself to a few bits as well.
“The centre is very impressive. It’s completely different to anything else round here.”
We had a massive response to our competition and Sheila was the first name pulled out independently by a member of staff from Age Concern.
