A SUPPORT scheme which takes the hassle out of car accident repairs is on course to signing up 100 UK garages.

Call Zebra was set up by Darren Gilling just four months ago in Ellesmere Port’s Pioneer Business Park.

So far, it has recruited 35 repair shops from Cornwall to Scotland.

Ten more are set to join this month, meaning it is on target to reach 100 by June.

Garages which join the Call Zebra model can exploit a “one-stop shop” solution for accident management.

Call Zebra allows garages of all sizes to offer an impressive range of services, including a 24-hour helpline, like-for-like car hire and access to legal services.

It means repairers can attract more direct business and customers can solve all their needs through one phone call to their garage.

Mr Gilling used his 20 years of experience from the shop floor up to start the venture.

He said: “I’m so passionate about the industry and, given the current economic climate, I believe there’s never been a more fitting time to launch the business.

“There’s such a buzz among the repairers we speak to and new firms are joining all the time.

The business will also receive celebrity backing after Darren recruited TV presenter and motoring expert Mike Brewer, the star of TV show Wheeler Dealers, as the face of Call Zebra.

Mr Brewer said: “Call Zebra has taken the time to understand the repairers’ needs in today’s market and developed a sustainable network of service which benefits both the motorist and the repairer.”
