POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a teenager suffered minor injuries during an assault in Whitchurch.
The youth was shouted at by a group in a car, possibly a Peugeot.
The gang then jumped out of the car and chased him on foot. They caught up with him and attacked him outside Tesco in White Lion Meadow.
The incident happened between about 9.45pm and 9.55pm on Friday and the offenders ran away when staff from the store intervened.
Police officers are examining CCTV footage from the area to see if they can identify any of the culprits.
They have also appealed for anyone who might have seen the assault or who has information about the incident to contact them on 08457 444888.
