A KENNEL is appealing for pet lovers to adopt two young dogs

Staff at Five Oaks kennels, on Capenhurst Lane, Capenhurst want someone to look after Jack, a Jack Russell, and a stray Staffordshire bull terrier dubbed ‘Dennis the Menace’.

Alison Stuart, at Five Oaks, said both are friendly animals who need company and affection.

She added: “Jack is two. He has come from a family so would be a good family dog.

“He’s full of fun. He’s very good in the house.

“The reason he’s come in is because he is shut in the house all day, but he never messes in the house. He’s been very good.

“The owners think its criminal that he’s locked in. They realise that a young one like this shouldn’t be locked in. He needs a family to keep him company.”

Alison says the other dog, 18-month-old ‘Dennis the Menace’, as he has been named by staff, is a healthy stray.

She added: “He was brought in by people who spotted him while walking their dogs.

“He kept following them and they went round looking for his owner but couldn’t find one. He had no collar on or anything.”

Staff have already spotted a cheeky side in the dark brown, nearly black Staff/Patterdale cross.

Alison said: “He looks very well, he didn’t look like one that’s been thrown out.

“Because he’s a stray I wouldn’t recommend he go to a family with young children in case they torment him.

“I wouldn’t imagine he would bite, but it’s a bit of a risk when you don’t know the dog.”
