THE beasts lurking beneath the surface of a primary school pond in Capenhurst have been discovered by pupils.

Volunteers from the BTCV have created a dipping station in the pond area of the Capenhurst Grange School and pupils have enjoyed hours discovering a host of mini beasts while exploring the pond.

Pupils of Hinderton Primary School helped the children from Capenhurst plant trees and a new hedge, donated by the Woodland Trust and Groundwork Cheshire.

Fire cadets from West Cheshire College also got stuck in to get the vegetable plot started.

Capenhurst Grange School has a large polytunnel, where pupils are learning practical skills in horticulture and gaining a qualification in the process.

Capenhurst Grange School would welcome other schools and other community groups which may wish to take advantage of its facilities. Email
