A CHARITY has another appeal to Ellesmere Port residents.

Cancer Research UK is hosting it’s Race for Life at Chester Racecourse on Sunday, June 13.

The cancer charity is calling on the SAS – The SAS is a team men and women who want to volunteer their time and energy to help make the day a huge success.

Race for Life is the UK’s largest women-only fundraising event series where all the money raised goes to fund Cancer Research UK’s life-saving work.

All women are welcome, regardless of whether they are taking part on their own or as part of a group.

Cancer Research UK Chester event manager Helen Wright said: “It’s not just the 5,000 women who take part in the Chester Race for Life who are important to us.

“Our Special Action Squad of volunteers plays a crucial role – without them the event simply wouldn’t happen.

Everyone is welcome – men and women of all ages and abilities.

Cancer Research UK staff will be there on the day to brief, guide and support volunteers and everyone who signs up for the SAS will receive a special T-shirt to wear.
