WORK on a £2.5m road scheme to relieve traffic pressure on Chester Business Park and the city centre will begin on August 4.

Designed by Cheshire County Council's Engineering Service, the project involves the construction of a dual carriageway on the A483 Wrexham Road between Chester Business Park and the A55 Chester Southerly by-pass.

The six-month dualling contract - to build a 600 metre carriageway alongside the existing road - will mean much less disruption for road users, a spokesman said.

He added: "Widening of the A55 slip road from the Business Park is now complete and the County's complementary scheme will further reduce congestion and increase safety."
