A SCHOOL business manager is celebrating after gaining a national qualification.

Tracy Mills, who is the bursar at St Mary of the Angels Catholic Primary in Little Sutton, has been awarded the Certificate of School Business Management by the National College for School Leadership (NCSL).

She was among 15 successful candidates in the North West who received their awards at a graduation ceremony in Nottingham.

The course enables school managers to bring the latest in financial and commercial expertise to their role as well as administrative management skills that help support leadership teams, a role that is becoming increasingly important in schools.

Tracy said: “The course was hard work. It was 10-12 hours a week on top of your full-time job but it was worthwhile. I really enjoy working at the school, it is a varied role.”
