BURGLARS escaped empty handed from a Little Neston school after smashing two windows.

The offenders searched two classrooms at St Winefride’s Primary, Mellock Lane, at 2.30am on Thursday before fleeing when alarms activated.

They had entered the school building by smashing a rear window, and escaped by breaking a second window.

In a separate incident thieves forced open the rear doors to the new Conservative Club in Westminster Road, Ellesmere Port, at 12.40am on Friday, but fled when the alarms went off inside.
