A BURGLAR who pawned stolen electrical goods within an hour of breaking into a house in Ellesmere Port for the second time has been jailed.
Michael David Brown, 34, of Beechfield Road, Ellesmere Port, was handed a three-and-a-half year prison sentence after pleading guilty to two burglaries committed in December last year at a house on Wetherby Way, Ellesmere Port.
On both occasions Brown stole Christmas presents, including an iPod, lingerie, DVDs and a television.
Using intelligence gathered from Brown’s mobile phone, investigating officers were able to pinpoint his whereabouts and place him close to the scene of the crime.
DC Steven McCabe, who investigated the burglaries, said: “Brown had the audacity to return to the same house twice in order to fuel his own selfish greed.
“We are pleased with the decision of the courts to imprison him for a significant period of time meaning he is off the streets of Ellesmere Port.”
