A NEGLECTED dog who was abandoned outside an Ellesmere Port grooming salon with its new-born puppy is making good progress.
The two-year-old female bullmastiff and the male puppy, thought to be only a day old, were left tied to a tree in front of Jayde Dog Grooming in Merseyton Road.
Salon owner Carol Elliot described the mother’s condition as ‘horrendous’ when she found her.
However, since visiting the vets and being cared for by a foster home the dog, which has been named Missy, is much happier.
Carol said: “She put on three kilos last week. She goes back to the vet on Friday and I think she will have put more weight on.
“She’s a lot happier, she wags her tail now. Mentally as well as physically she is a completely different dog.
“I’d like to thank Littlecroft vets in Little Sutton, they’ve really helped me out. Also thanks to the customers who have set up a fund for food, toys and chews.”
People wanting to take on Missy will get to visit her and then there will need to be a home check. If you’re interested call Carol on 0151 356 3560.
