WORK on a new £1.5m care home for Wrexham is now under way.
Pendine Park Care Homes has begun the construction and development of a specialist facility for the care of younger disabled clients.
The £1.5m project will provide North East Wales with specialist services including the provision of services to those with brain injuries.
The facility is being built at the Summerhill Road site in Wrexham by the Denbighshire-based builders Carrolls and the architects are Wynn Rogers and Co, of Denbigh.
In addition to multiple day and activity rooms, all bedrooms will have en-suite bathrooms. The development will be known as Pen y Bryn and will open its doors next March providing 50 new jobs.
Mario Kreft, proprietor of Pendine Park Care Homes, said: 'We are all very excited about this development as it will rank alongside the best facilities to be found in the UK.
'Over the last 12 years we have developed our services for the younger disabled. Pen y Bryn is good news for North East Wales both in terms of jobs and new services.'
