YOUNG thespians from Ellesmere Port have been taking tips from the top during a workshop with the Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC).

Expert coaches from the company visited the National Waterways Museum to help its young theatre group, The Boaty Youth Theatre, stage its upcoming adaptation of The Tempest.

A day-long workshop was held ahead of August’s debut performance of A Storm In A Teacup, which will be performed in the open air at the historic museum site.

Museum youth activities co-ordinator Gaynor La Rocca said it was a ‘fantastic opportunity’ for the young people.

She said: “They are excited about incorporating all these new ideas in the performance.

“Having a prestigious national artistic group such as the RSC visiting Ellesmere Port is a real coup for the Museum and the town and we’re grateful to everyone who has made it possible.”
