VAUXHALL has been dealt a blow with the news that driving school BSM has ended a 17-year relationship with the carmaker to supply cars in favour of Fiat.

The Italian maker will deliver 14,000 vehicles to the training giant over the next four years.

Vauxhall had supplied BSM with Corsa’s from Spain and Astra’s from the Ellesmere Port plant.

Fiat boss Abu Shafi said the Fiat 500, which will be the main car that learners use, has ‘greener credentials’.

He added: “We wanted the deal (with Vauxhall), but couldn't do it on commercial terms.”
