BRITAIN'S most dangerous prisoner Charles Bronson has changed his name by deed poll for a second time and become a Muslim.

Bronson, who used to live in Ellesmere Port, has now become Ali Charles Ahmed and claims on his own website he has taken the new name in honour of his wife's father.

The convicted armed robber and hostage-taker married 31-year-old Asian dancer Saira Rehman at a ceremony in Woodhill Prison, near Milton Keynes, in June.

Born Michael Peterson, he changed his name to Charles Bronson after the actor.

Now in HM Prison Durham, Bronson, who was originally convicted of armed robbery in 1975, has seen his sentence grow after repeated attacks and the hostage-taking of prison staff.

He is not eligible for parole until 2010.
