AS PART of the National Gardens Scheme, which raises cash for numerous charities, owner Liz Carter will be opening Briarfield in Burton to the public on Sunday (April 26).
The £3.50 entry (children free) plus the plant sale profit will go to selected charities including Macmillan Cancer Relief and Marie Curie Cancer Care.
Proceeds from the afternoon teas at Rake Cottage will go to Claire House Children’s Hospice on the Wirral.
Tucked into the south side of Burton Wood, Briarfield Gardens, The Rake, will be open from 2-5pm.
Visitors are also welcome by appointment all year round.
Its sheltered south-facing sandy slope is home to many specialist plants, some available for sale. Colourful shrubs, bulbs, alpines and several water features compete for attention in the four distinctly different gardens. Many beds have been redesigned for this season.
