FLINT Town United’s manager Paul Davies yesterday called for a six-week mid-winter break in the season after being washed out at Llanfairpwll on Saturday, writes Mike McEvoy.

Doubts persist over his own Cae Castell pitch being dry enough to host Lex tonight.

“Why don’t the powers build in a break over the Christmas and January period so that we avoid all this stop-start lottery?” said Davies, who adds his namesake to the squad.

Simon Richards returns for Lex, as could Tinash Mutanha, writes John Bridgwater.

Penrhyncoch player-boss Gavin Allen (knee) is close to a return, but is unlikely to feature in tonight’s clash at Bala Town.

Bala will still be without suspended striker Neil Fisher.
