RUNCORN Linnets have this morning sealed the signing of prolific frontman Vinnie Braine - exclusively forecast in yesterday’s Runcorn Weekly News - from new manager Steve Wilkes’ previous club Padiham.
The 23-year-old is available for tomorrow’s trip to Cheadle Town (ko 3pm), another of his former teams, in the Vodkat League Cup.
Wilkes is delighted to be reunited with his former charge.
He said: “We only had Dave Thompson as a central striker with Thomas Lamb having left and it was important we got another in straight away.
“The lad knows where the net is and he can’t wait to get a Runcorn shirt on. I am sure the fans will love him.”
