PORTHMADOG, who have been plagued by absences for various reasons, appear to have a settled side to travel to Welshpool Town today.

“Stability is with us at last and it is a great relief after all the disruptions of previous weeks,” said player-manager Clayton Blackmore.

The one change likely now will involve the return of Richard Smart after a suspension in place of Adam Docker. Both players can operate in central defence or up front, and Blackmore said: “It is useful to have players who can mix and match.”

Blackmore and Mike Foster have shrugged off injuries, while Carl Owen and Marcus Orlik are expected to report fit.

Tomi Morgan hailed the character of his Welshpool side after stretching their unbeaten run to five league games, writes John Bridgwater.

Down to nine men for the last half hour at Port Talbot in midweek, the Lilywhites returned with a 1-1 draw.

And Morgan said: “To come away with a point was a fantastic effort. They showed a lot of character.”

Geraint Windsor and John Keegan were the two defenders to be dismissed for their second bookings, which saw striker Ross Jefferies revert to the back line. With the duo serving one-match bans today, Jefferies could again be used in that role.
