HALTON has been selected as one of the locations earmarked for a wave of housebuilding under a Government scheme.

The borough, along with St Helens and Warrington, is among six areas of the North West designated as Housing Growth Points.

The Government has expanded its target for new home building by a further 30,000 houses across the selected areas.

Under the scheme Halton would receive a slice of £100m to fund extra infrastructure including schools, parks and health facilities which would be needed to support the extra homes.
