AN IMPORTANT survey into the region’s drinking habits has gone flat with Ellesmere Port people.
To date only 110 people in the borough have filled in the questionnaire, despite alcohol being one of the top causes of preventable ill-health in West Cheshire.
And, as revealed in the Pioneer earlier this year, boozing among youngsters and adults is also one of the region’s biggest causes of hospital admissions.
Now Western Cheshire Primary Care Trust (PCT), which is halfway through collecting data for the nationwide Big Drink Debate, is urging more Port people to spend a minute or two taking part.
Steve Bridgman, the PCT’s associate director of public health, said: “We started the survey in May and so far we have only got 110 people taking part from Ellesmere Port and Neston, which is one of the lowest in the region.”
