BOROUGH chiefs have honoured those who have lost their lives to service and are buried in the council cemeteries with a memorial entry in the council’s book of remembrance.

The memorial testament reads:

‘Overpool and Neston Cemetery is home to a number of war graves

In memory of those who served our country

Within this place may their souls rest’.

Julie Proctor, the council’s bereavement services manager, said: “We thought it appropriate to commemorate the memory of those who are buried within war graves at both our cemeteries.

“It is an honour to provide a lasting testament to them all”

A book of remembrance is housed within the chapel buildings at both Overpool and Neston cemeteries.

If you want to view the memorial entry, it will be on display from Monday-Friday, November 10-14.
