A CHAMPION bobsledder is the latest sporting star to pay a visit to Ellesmere Port’s schoolchildren in the run-up to the Olympics.

Nicola Minichiello dropped in to meet pupils of Meadow Primary School in Great Sutton.

Nicola – who, in 2009, became the first British female bobsleigh driver to win a World Championship gold – spoke to children about what inspired her to achieve success.

She also showed pupils her medals and joined her hosts for a simulation bobsleigh run.

The visit marked the school’s launch of the BeThe Best You Can Be! programme in celebration of the Games. It is designed to enable youngsters to discover their potential and pursue their dreams.
