THE annual bluebell afternoon at Tushingham Hall raised £1,250.

The cash will be equally split between Tushingham Church and the Hospice of the Good Shepherd at Backford, Chester.

The ladies of Tushingham Church provided teas and the hospice side was organised by the Malpas Group of Friends. The Waverton branch of the Hospice Friends held a knitting stall and the plant stall raised £180.

Host Peter Moore-Dutton said: “We had a pleasant and fine afternoon with very good support, in spite of many other gardens being open that day.”
