A WREXHAM man has achieved his dream of becoming a radio presenter.

Calon FM’s Dave Williams spent his childhood doing mock interviews with his parents and cueing up CDs in his bedroom.

Now Dave, 37, who is blind, uses a braille computer to write and read his radio scripts.

Calon FM station managers Nadira Tudor and Oliver Pscherer said: “The moment we met Dave we knew he was a natural presenter. The fact Dave can’t see was never an issue for us. He’s got a great talent for scriptwriting and is perfectly at home behind the microphone.”

Dave combines his presenting on Calon FM, a community radio station, with his studies at Glyndwr University where he takes a course in broadcast journalism and radio production.

You can tune in to Dave every Friday from noon-2pm on 105FM and online at www.calonfm.com.
