AIRBUS UK have been hit by suspensions as they bid to continue their flight towards Welsh Premier safety when they tackle Aberystwyth Town at Broughton today.

The wingmakers can go into the encounter in good spirits after reeling off three straight wins for the first time to ease their relegation fears.

That revival, including fine away success at Port Talbot and Connah’s Quay Nomads, resulted in player boss and former Wrexham midfielder Gareth Owen being named player of the month.

But their defensive plans have been disrupted for today with John Davies and Mark Allen both serving one match suspensions along with Adam Hunter.

However, they have given a welcome boost with experienced left back Steve Hopkins back in the squad for the first time since a serious ankle injury picked up against The New Saints on the opening day of the season.

Aberystwyth will be hoping bounce back from their first defeat in five outings as they bid to stay in touch with the leading pack.

Like many sides, the seasiders have suffered a stop- start campaign since the turn of the year with a string of postponements.

Having lost 2-0 at home to Bangor City last weekend, hopes of a swift riposte were dampened as the midweek trip to Llanelli was called off due to a waterlogged pitch.

And manager Brian Coyne admits it has been a frustrating time with the weather.

“We can’t seem to get a run of games together which is frustrating for everyone,” he said.

“I thought we didn’t play badly last week, but we did not play as well as we have done in recent weeks.”

Aber have been dealt an injury blow with winger Craig Jones facing the prospect of missing the rest of the season after suffering a knee ligaments injury in the Bangor game.

There was better news on midfielder Bari Morgan whose eye injury was not as serious as at first feared.

Striker Danny Barton, who has missed a month with an ankle injury, could be pushing for a return this weekend after getting some action under his belt with Cymru Alliance side Llangefni.
