WREXHAM could soon have a second university.
Discussions are under way to establish Wales's 35th University of the Third Age (U3A) in the town.
U3A is a university for older people and Wrexham County Borough Council sponsored a meeting to talk about starting one.
No qualifications are required to join the collective and it has members rather than students. Every U3A is independent and arranges its own study programme, which may include talks, interest groups, guided visits to stately homes, historic sites and exhibitions and trips to the theatre and concerts.
Members learn at their own pace and there are no targets to meet and no accreditation.
It is hoped the first Wrexham programme will start in the new year.
