ARLEY estate foreman Barry Harden, 62, has been presented with an award by estate owner Lord Ashbrook to mark 40 years of dedicated service.

Barry, 62, has been involved in the running and management of Arley’s 2,000-acre estate since 1967.

He lives on the estate with his wife and began work as a builder, before becoming farm manager and then estate foreman.

Through his work he plays a major role in many of the major events held at Arley each year.

He said: “My many years at Arley Hall and Gardens have left me with a lifetime of memories and countless friends.

“This has to be one of the most beautiful places in the country to work, and my time here has never been short of excitement.”
