AMSTERDAM have announced they will be hitting the road for their first headline tour in over two years.

The Ellesmere Port band have enjoyed a fantastic year and will end 2008 in style with a run of seven UK shows starting in November.

Lead singer Ian Prowse, who hails from Little Sutton, said: “This is our first headline tour in over two years so it’s going to be full on..”

This year Amsterdam released their second album, Arm in Arm, and performed at the Glastonbury Festival.

The band has also teamed up with the legendary Elvis Costello for a cover of The Searchers’ hit Don’t Throw Your Love Away as part of Liverpool’s Number One Project album.

And they performed the song to 10,000 people at the new Liverpool Echo Arena.

Amsterdam will be performing in Gateshead on Friday, November 14; Wolverhampton on Tuesday, November 18; London on Thursday, November 20; Stratford on Friday, November 28; Glasgow on Tuesday, December 2; York on Thursday, December 4 and finally Liverpool on Saturday, December 6.
