CHESHIRE West and Chester Council is offering a series of food safety and nutrition training courses for owners of businesses or people working in catering.
The courses begin next Wednesday, September 30, and run through to March 2010 and will be held at Backford Hall, Chester or Wyvern House, Winsford.
Everyone taking part will receive a nationally recognised vocational qualification from the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health.
Cllr Lynn Riley, executive member for area and community services said: “The correct training for people who handle food is an essential part of food safety.
“The law requires that all food handlers are trained, instructed and supervised to a correct level and we all know that food poisoning and allergic reactions can have disastrous consequences.
“Training in food safety will help businesses prevent this happening and the qualification is suitable for everyone who handles food in businesses where food is stored, prepared or cooked.”
