AWARD-WINNING Cheshire chef Brian Mellor will be helping schoolchildren in Ellesmere Port cook up a storm in coming weeks.

Brian, who runs a cookery school in Harthill, has been signed up by the Junior Chefs’ Academy to deliver healthy eating workshops in primary schools across the county.

The former BBC head chef has already confirmed a visit to William Stockton Primary School in Ellesmere Port.

Brian said: “Working with the Junior Chefs’ Academy is a tremendous occasion to enthuse the children and get them intrigued about ingredients and food.

“I’m happy to be involved in this project and really looking forward to working with the schools.”

Junior Chefs’ Academy head chef Paul Cooper said: “We are really pleased to be working with Brian.

“He’s certainly no stranger to food education and he shares our passion for giving children an early introduction to issues such as healthy eating, fair trade and ‘food miles’, as well as to the practical skills involved in food preparation.”
