WINNINGTON Avenue Reserves scored five goals on Saturday – and lost.

They went down 6-5 in their First Division home match against Wheatsheaf Wanderers and stay bottom of the table.

Michael Bell (2), Sean Bradley, Chris Roberts and Danny Newton were their marksmen.

Saturday: Crewe and Eats Cheshire Inter League Cup – Boar Hound v Winnington Avenue; Crewe FA Cup quarter finals – Cuddington v Kidsgrove Carpets, Sandbach Utd Eagles v Lostock Gralam Res.

Cheshire League matches involving Barnton, Witton Albion Res and Lostock were washed out at the weekend. Saturday’s fixtures include: One – Crosfields v Barnton, Lino-Cheadle v Witton Res; Two –Warrington Res v Lostock.

Mid Cheshire Sunday League Premier Division leaders Rudheath SC beat Division One front runners 4-2 to move into the Mid Cheshire FA Sunday Cup semi-finals.

In the League Division Two toppers Bowling Green sneaked home 3-2 against strugglers Blue Barrel and are 12 points clear.
