A FORMER Ellesmere Port man has written a book about his experiences growing up in Cheshire between the 1940s-60s.

Author Ivor Golding talks about how he regularly moved around the county due to his father’s role as a policeman for over 25 years.

He fondly recalls his time in Ellesmere Port as well as places such as Runcorn, Little Budworth and Crewe.

In memory of his wife Mr Golding, who had a spell working at Port-based Castrol Oil, is vowing to make a donation to the Hospice of the Good Shepherd in Backford for every book sold.

- The book is on sale at Borders on The Coliseum.
