A TRIO of Wrexham AC rising stars stormed to double gold-medal glory at the City of Stoke AC Open.

Neve Evans, in the Under 11s girls 75m (11.8secs) and long jump (3.13m), Chloe Jones, in the U17s women’s 200m (27.0secs) and long jump (5.16m PB), and Tom Cusworth, in the U17s men’s 100m (11.6secs) and 200m (23.0), bagged a brace of pole positions.

There were also victories for David Blower, in the U15s boys 800m (2.14.00mins), James Roberts, in the U17s men’s 800m (2.13.7), and Lydia David, in the U17s women’s shot (8.35m). Roberts also finished fourth in the 1,500m (4.33.3mins) and Blower fifth in the 200m (26.5secs) and seventh in the long jump (3.77m).

Gareth Bennett came second in the U17s men’s 200m (23.9secs PB) and fourth in the 100m (12.2), William Poole fifth in the U15s boys long jump (4.68m) and sixth in the 200m (27.2secs), and Helen Blower sixth in the U15s girls 100m (14.6 PB) and seventh in the long jump (2.90m).

Neve, in the 75m (11.3secs), was also a winner at the Trafford AC Open as well as finishing second in the 150m (24.0) and fourth in the long jump (2.97m).

Kieran Cooper won the U15s boys long jump (5.00) and was second in the 100m (13.4secs) and sixth in the 200m (27.8).

David Blower came second in the 800m (2.14.1mins), as did Stephanie Jones in the U13s girls discus (15.58m) and javelin (20.55). She was also fourth in the shot (6.48).

Jordan Jones came third in the U11s boys shot (4.39), fifth in the 600m (2.10.9mins) and seventh in the javelin (14.14m), Helen fourth in the 100m (14.8secs), Hannah Browning fourth in the U15s girls high jump (1.35m), sixth in the 200m (31.6secs) and ninth in the long jump (4.26m PB), and Kyle Cooper fifth in the U13s boys shot (4.43) and javelin (14.78).

Lisa Morley and Peter Norman, competing for Wrecsam Triathlon Club, finished the Harlech Triathlon in 143rd (1.40.37hours) and 178th (1.44.29) respectively.
