ARTWORK created by young people as part of the Youth Federation’s Summer of a Lifetime project is brightening up Great Sutton Health Centre.
As part of the summer-long project, youngsters were tasked with fundraising and completing a project for the benefit of residents.
The group chose to complete an artwork project and designed and created ‘What I love about...’ boards for every neighbourhood in the town.
The artwork for the Great Sutton and Parklands neighbourhoods is now on display in Great Sutton Health Centre – brightening up the foyer for staff and visitors.
Councillor Nicole Meardon, said: “As part of the Youth Federation’s project local young people have been working hard within their communities to raise funds whilst learning valuable life skills, culminating in these fantastic pieces of artwork.
“The paintings really brighten the foyer area of the building for visitors and I am very pleased to have worked with Alan and his team to make improvements to the local neighbourhood as well as the health centre.”
Cheshire, Halton and Warrington’s Youth Federation works to help disadvantaged young people achieve their potential through direct delivery youth work, alternative education and working with the voluntary sector to the frontline of community youth work.
Their Summer of a Lifetime project is part of the National Citizen Service programme and gives Year 11 students the chance to engage in their communities and gain some valuable life skills in the summer holidays.
