CREATIVE children at an Ellesmere Port primary school are now the proud owners of Blue Peter badges.

The Year 2 class was set a challenge by teacher Debra Morgan to create a house fit for a character of their choice.

They embraced the project and the results were so stunning that Ms Morgan encouraged her class to write to legendary children’s TV show Blue Peter to let it know.

She said: “Earlier this year we were working on traditional tales within class and, as a part of our design technology topic, the children made a house for a character of their choosing.

“The house had to portray the character they had chosen.

“The standard of the houses was so good that we decided to write to Blue Peter to show them.

“Each child wrote a letter to say how they had made their house and why. We waited patiently and their hard work was rewarded. I am extremely proud of them all.”

The programme was so impressed it sent each child one of the sought-after white-and-blue pin badges.
