ARSONISTS set alight conifers in three Ellesmere Port gardens, all within minutes of each other.
The blazes were reported between 1.38am and 1.54am on Sunday morning at properties in Underwood Drive, Clydesdale and Deeside.
On this occasion the damage was limited to the trees, thanks to the swift action of firefighters.
However, Colin Heyes, arson reduction manager, said the fires had the potential to cause significant damage to property and even put lives at risk.
He said: “The fires took hold within seconds and had they not been reported so quickly could have spread to fences, cars, garages or houses.
“The people who started the fires should be aware that their actions don’t just cause petty damage or inconvenience to residents. They could have very dire consequences indeed.”
The blazes come after similar ones in Great Sutton, where conifers were set alight on Ascot Drive on Friday night and the night before on Goodwood Grove.
