ELLESMERE Port police have executed three warrants on the town’s Swale estate.

Following extensive searches of the targeted properties in Swale Road and Aire Close, a 36-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possessing class A and C drugs with intent to supply.

He has since been released on police bail pending further enquiries.

A second man, aged 33, was given a street caution for possession of cannabis.

Officers also seized a quantity of substances, believed to be drugs, which have been sent for further forensic examination.

Sergeant Carlos Brunes, of Ellesmere Port Neighbourhood Policing Unit (NPU), said: “These warrants form part of ongoing efforts to rid our communities of drug use.

“This is yet another example of the excellent work being carried out by officers in Ellesmere Port.”

“We are having a positive impact on reducing drug use in the community and are getting the message across that this sort of behaviour will not be tolerated by Cheshire police.

“However, we rely on the public to provide us with intelligence in relation to those areas where drugs are being used or dealt.

“I encourage anyone who has information to contact the police.

“Every piece of information is useful when we are piecing together a case.”
