THREE masked men threatened 30 staff and customers with weapons during a terrifying robbery at a public house in Ellesmere Port.

The raiders, who were armed with a black bat and an metal bar, burst into Old Hall Farm in Kinsey Road just before closing time at about 10.55pm on Monday as customers were preparing to leave.

The men hustled the manager into a room where he was threatened with a hatchet before they stole cash from the safe.

Officers are currently interviewing witnesses to find out exactly what happened.

Detective Constable Mike Beamish said: “This is a very serious offence that has had a huge impact on each of the people present.

“The males used very threatening behaviour towards innocent members of the public who have been left traumatised.”

The first man is described as white, of stocky build, 5ft 8-9ins tall, about 35-40 years-old with dark hair and blue eyes. He was wearing dark clothing.

The second is described as white, of slim to average build, 6ft 1-2ins tall, in his mid-20s with hazel eyes, bushy eyebrows and wearing dark clothing and white trainers. Both of these men were wearing velvet face covering.

The third is described as being of large build, 5ft 9ins-6ft tall, in his 30s and wearing dark clothing and a black Balaclava.
