A REASEHEATH lecturer is appealing for help in trying to find her mum’s amorous tortoise.

Candice Whalley, who lecturers in animal management at the Nantwich college, said it is the second time 30-year-old Gerald has escaped.

“After my mum’s tortoise escaped from her garden to find a lady last year, we thought we had made it escape proof,” said Candice. “Unfortunately, he has disappeared again.”

Gerald, a Mediterranean spur-thighed tortoise, wandered off again from his Crewe Road home at Shavington, close to the Cheshire Cheese, on July 24 and Candice believes he may be in the fields in that area.
