POLICE in Wrexham are investigating after reports that a man was robbed at the public toilets in St Giles' car park near Brook Street about 12.45pm yesterday.

The toilets and a nearby telephone box were temporarily closed for forensic examination.

Police say a man was approached and had his wallet containing a small amount of cash and personal items stolen.

The offender is described as being in his early 30s; about 6ft tall, of medium build. He was wearing a white baseball cap with a dark coloured peak; a two tone coloured top, which was black in the middle with white sleeves, and blue jeans. He was said to be carrying a khaki coloured holdall over one shoulder.

Det Sgt Arwyn Jones of Wrexham CID said: "This man was seen hanging around the toilets and the nearby telephone box for a considerable time before the incident took place and we are keen to speak to anyone who may have seen him.
